Great Leap Forward & The Cultural Revolution

The Great Leap Forward allowed Japan to embark on new achievements concerning industry and economy. Issued by Mao Zedong , the Great Leap Forward was a "proposed five year plan" lasting from 1958 to 1963. Shortly thereafter, after several attempts to make his plan a success, he left China's economy in the hands of Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai and Deng iaoping.

Mao Zedong figured that if the army was treated well and ready to go into battle, that companies would grow with agricultural workers leading them to modernization. As one of the steps, that the leader Mao issued was that China be divided into communes.

Communes, were pieces of land that contained 5000 families, people in communes had to give up their pieces of property and everything to the commune. Due to the intense work day, nurseries were provided for parents who worked all day. Healthcare and "houses of happiness" were also added to ensure that the people stayed in the communes.

Mao Zedong's Goals For Proposing Great Leap Forward Plan
* Modernization
* Building of Larger Economies
* Use of Stalinist Approach
- Approach that promoted production, machinery, and
  technology,The approach did not focus on the quality or
  ways of production, ex. amount of labor. If labor is the most
  abundant "resource" in the society, then according to
  orthodox economic thinking, labor (or, better said, the
  possibility of doing work is more beneficial than one central
  station carrying out machinery production.
